Just as I was publishing the December update earlier this week, an email from the Portuguese Consulate arrived:
“We inform that your visa was approved and is now ready to be issued, you can send us your passport by mail so we can stamp the visa and mail it back to you as soon as possible.”
The application was turned around in record time – less than two weeks for a process that is normally 4-6 weeks. Needless to say, I hastened to the FedEx office to overnight my passport to the Consulate. It just returned a few minutes ago, updated with a beautiful Portuguese visa stamp. My flight departs in five days.
Lookout, Esquires! Save my table, I’ll be there for breakfast Friday morning.
